Wall qualifier closes with outstanding performances

The first performance of the Wall qualifier had some strong rides and fast times for the area's top high school cowboys and cowgirls. Earlier today, they returned to the arena, hoping to top their previous efforts.
Pick it up in the team roping.
Wyatt Tibbitts and Payton Pirrung going to work and they'll finish it off in a smooth 8-point-14 seconds.
Off to the Bull Riding, no qualified rides Saturday, not so here as Martin's Tee Allen hangs on for the full eight and the bull was nice enough to drop him off gently at the fence. Allen gets himself a 52 on the ride.
Tristan Janis going to work and he's got a strong ride going, but loses track of time and ends up reaching for the rigging before the eight second buzzer. He'll end up with no score on a solid ride.
Over to the pole bending and Hermosa's Rachel McCoy with solid finish to her run, 21.355 seconds.
But Rapid City's Jessica Peterson would come through with a terrific time, finishing this run in 21.240

Next up for area cowboys and cowgirls is the Sturgis Qualifier next Friday through Sunday.
