The St. Thomas More girls and boys basketball programs are both ranked among the top five in the state in Class A this season but the five-time defending champion girls are in the fairly unfamiliar territory of losing three games already this season ... The Cavaliers hosted the Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers in a doubleheader this evening ...

Lead-Deadwood's boys looking to spring the upset on the Cavaliers tonight ... First possession of the game and More's Caden Casey likes the look of this one and hits nothing but the bottom of the net for three ... STM up 5-0 in no time ... The Golddiggers then break the STM pressure and guard Carter Nelson finds forward Zak Mau for the layup. Cavaliers come back and Casey finds some space on the other side of the 'Digger zone and knocks down another 3 ... he hit four in the first half ... And then the Cavs attack the zone with some great ball movement as Michael Gylten lobs a pass over the top to Grant Huber who finds Connor Hollenbeck with a nice touch pass for two ... More led 57-14 at the half and went on to take this one by a final of 78 to 23 ...

The Thunder leave Thursday for a weekend tournament in Minneapolis where they are guaranteed at least three games ... and more if they win. The Thunder know that they'll be in for a tough test as they've already saw some of the teams that will be in Minnesota at last year's national tournament. The undefeated Sioux Falls Flyers will also be in attendance.

The tournament features teams from Minnesota, California and Colorado and will run through Sunday, January 20th.

And in some big ECHL news, Rapid City has placed forward Andrew Radjenovic on team suspension and removed the All-Star from the active roster as he pursues an opportunity in Europe. Radjenovic was slated to represent Rapid City in this month's ECHL All-Star game in Toledo, Ohio ... he is the Rush's leading scorer and only All-Star this season with 16 goals and 18 assists in 40 games.
