The Wall Eagles enter the 2017 high school football season with a new head coach. The New Underwood Tigers enter the season without their head coach as an interstate collision just one month ago left D-J Toczek unable to return to the sidelines anytime soon.
Friday, the two teams met to open the regular season.

Out to New Underwood where the Tigers are coaching by committee.
Little sluggish in the first game of the year as Wall working it down on their first drive, Tate Eisenbraun picks up about 18 yards on the left side to set up a first and goal.
Moments later, Eisenbraun gets to finish what he started, punching in the first touchdown of the game.
After a New Underwood turnover, Wall trying to capitalize. Jacob Bielmaier fires to the end zone, but Jacob McNutt steps in front for the big interception.
But the Tigers are undone once again, on the ensuing drive, Colton Cogdill back to pass, fires, but is picked off by Cooper McConaghy with nothing but daylight in front of him and he will score. 12-nothing Wall with the lead.
2nd quarter, New Underwood finally getting something cooking, but facing a 4th-and-goal from the 15, Cogdill tucks it and runs, and plunges in for the touchdown.
And that was our last check with Wall leading 12-to-6 in the second quarter.
