And in Region 7A action, the seeding held as No. 1 seed Winner topped Red Cloud 71 to 63 to reach the Round of 16 where they will face Redfield Doland and Todd County topped Pine Ridge for the third time this season but it was far from easy as the Falcons picked up a 71 to 65 win over the Thorpes to reach the SoDak 16 and a meeting with No. 14 seed Miller

And in the Class B SoDak 16 tonight, there were three games with West River teams taking part ... and the White River Tigers punched their ticket to state with a 36 to 28 win over New Underwood ... the No. 1 ranked Ethan girls took care of business with an easy win over Dupree 70-38 and the Faith girls were upset in the 2-15 game by Waverly-South Shore 48 to 43, ending the Longhorns season ... the Class B state tournament will be held next weekend in Huron ...

The Class AA girls basketball SoDak Round of 16 tournament opens tonight with four of our area teams looking to secure a berth in the Class AA state tournament ... the No. 12 seeded Douglas girls will travel to Brookings ... the 11th seeded Central Cobblers are at Sioux Falls Washington while Stevens hosts Yankton in the 10-7 game at Carold Heier Gymnasium ... and The Sturgis Scoopers will face the Mitchell Kernels in the 8-9 game at the Corn Palace in Mitchell ...

The boys Class AA SoDak 16 will be played Saturday around the state ... and the boys and girls combined Class AA tournament will be held in Rapid City from March 14th through the 16th.

The Rapid City Rush fell 2-1 to Wichita last night as Justin Faryna tallied their only goal ... The Rush head to Allen for a game on Sunday against the Americans before heading home for a three-game homestand against the Utah Grizzlies next week.

The Black Hills State women's basketball team announced a new signing for next season as they're brining in Cody Robinson ... a 5-7 guard from Vona, Colorado. Robinson averaged 17.1 points and 6 rebounds per game this season and helped lead her team to state championships in both 2016 and 2018, and was the Colorado 2A Player of the Year following her junior season. The Jackets will host archrival South Dakota Mines in a men's and women's doubleheader in Spearfish tomorrow night ... we'll bring you highlights of all that action.
