South Dakota State University and women's basketball coach Aaron Johnston have agreed to a contract extension that keeps the program's winningest coach on the bench through the 2022-23 season. Since taking over as head coach in 2000, Johnston has compiled a 449-153 record in 19 seasons, posting 20 or more wins in a season 15 times. SDSU has made eight NCAA Tournament appearances under Johnston. The Jackrabbits are in Laramie tonight to face the University of Wyoming in their final non-conference game before Summit League play begins.

And while SDSU's Madison Guebert set a new school record for career 3's tonight, the Jackrabbits fell to the Wyoming Cowgirls in Laramie 77-70.

And SDSU's archrival was also in action today at the Puerto Rico Classic as the Coyotes picked up their second win in the event and moved to 12-1 on the season. Rapid City's Ciara Duffy posted a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds for the Coyotes, who defeated Grambling yesterday and will take on Indiana tomorrow. Monica Arens added 11 points and seven rebounds for South Dakota, which was just outside both the AP and USA Today Coaches' Top 25 polls this week.
