The Rush close out season with loss to Colorado

By  |

For some people the season went by too quick, for others, it didn't end soon enough. The Rapid City Rush are not making the playoffs again this season, which means Saturday was the last game of the year. And, it ended the way it began, with the Colorado Eagles.

At the beginning of the game, Riley Weslowski was awarded the 2nd annual Blaine Jarvis Heart and Soul Award - a huge honor in this organization.

It took no time for the 4th-ranked team in the ECHL to get things going offensively. Jackson Houck passes over to Luke Salazar. Salazar passes back over to Houck who nets the easy goal on the right glove slot. Colorado takes the 1-nothing lead after 1-minute and 8 seconds.

The Eagles trying to light up the goal again. Jake Marto rips the shot through traffic, but Adam Morrison makes the save.

Rush captain, Ryan Walters doing what he can.. he fires the shot from the blue line, but Colorado's Kent Simpson gets the save.

Colorado again, on the power play, Darryl Bootland takes the shot, but Morrison is all over it, keeping the game within 1.
And it was announced earlier this week that Danny Battochio will suit up and round out the 3rd period for the Rush. The Batman's back to play, people!

As of last check, Colorado had the 2-1 lead in the 3rd period.
