Sturgis stuns Belle Fourche at the Northern Hills Bowl

High school football continues Saturday as we go out to Spearfish for the annual Northern Hills Bowl.
Scoreless in the 1st quarter as Sturgis takes on Belle Fourche. Broncs' Tate Hoestetter is sacked by Brian Duran and Zyairr Johnson-Landoll.

On the next play, Belle on the 3rd and 12 at the 32. Hostetter goes long to Jackson Mailloux for the big gain. There was a 30 minute lightening delay after this play and we pick things up half an hour later. The Broncs don't miss a beat. Ball on the 19, Hoestetter connects with Dylan Burns for 19-yard touchdown catch and run. The extra point puts Belle in the 7-0 lead.

Sturgis looking to answer, on the 1st and 10 at the 49 yard line, Gavin West hands off to Noah Wamsher, who takes off up the left side and carries it into the end zone for the 51 yard touchdown. The 2-point conversion is no good and the Broncs lead, 7-6.

About half way through the 1st quarter and the Scoopers look to take the lead. On the 24 yard line, west hands off to Wamsher again, and he runs it in for 6. This time the Scoopers pick up the 2-point conversion and take the lead.
The Sturgis Scoopers who were win-less last season, picked up the w in their first game, beating Belle Fourche 40-21 the final score.
