Starting Friday, many of the best high school wrestlers will converge on the Civic Center for the two-day Rapid City Invitational tournament.
Thursday evening, a handful of those grapplers made their way to Stevens for one final tune-up.
Out Carold Heier Gym we go for the second duel of a Stevens Triangular with Spearfish battling Belle Fourche.
152 pounds, Belle's Chase Bickerdyke gets a little high and Tashon Clark makes him pay for it, pulling him into the small package. Bickerdyke is able to get his legs free eventually, but Clark will end up picking up the pin.
160 pounds, Belle's Jaredon Dosch with the slick sit through to pick up the two points on Spearfish's Greg George.
But George going to work, stuffing the shot, connects the hands to lock in the cradle, will get the takedown, plus three backpoins in the exchange.
Later, switched to half, Dosch is able to rip through to get the reversal, but George will hang on for the major decision.
Now to 270 pounds, Spearfish's Eli Zuniga wraps up Belle's Ryan Bauer's legs, gets him flipped onto his back. Zuniga will work his way down into a half and gets the stick.
Spearfish gets the duel win.
