The Rapid City Rush had a slow start to the season, but there's still 63 games left -- anything can happen. And the Rush proved that after beating Colorado last week, and winning the series against Brampton. We'll take a look back at the week that was for the Rapid City Rush, and what's ahead in this week's Sunday Slapshot.

Out to the Civic Center for Friday night's game. The Rush taking on the Brampton Beast in Game 2 of the 3-game set.

The Rush on the power play just 2 minutes into the game, and Jimmy DeVito sets up Gustav Bouramman for the goal to put the Rush in the 1-nothing lead.

More from the Rush the puck is sent by the goal, and Dylan Labbe tries to punch it in down low - no good - he swings it around and finds Kenton Miller open in front of the net for the goal to put the Rush in the 2-point lead.

Brampton now on the attack. Brandon Marino passes to Cody Donaghey. He takes the shot, and Steve Michalek fights to cover the puck.

The Beast keep the pressure. Brandon Marino takes the shot, and Matt Petgrave redirects it in for the goal to put Brampton on the board.

The Rush held on to the 2-1 lead through the first two periods. And things got interesting there at the end. The Rush took that game into 2 overtimes and then an 8-round shootout before beating the Beast, 3-2.
Then, the Rush faced Brampton again in the rubber match on Saturday, and Rapid City got the 3-1 win.

Let's take a look at the standings in the Mountain Division. The Wichita Thunder at the top again this week with a 7-and-1 record. Colorado is right up there with 14 points as well. Tulsa moved up to 3rd this week - followed by Idaho and Utah. The Allen Americans dropped from 3rd place last week, down to 6th. And the Rapid City Rush are 4 points behind, in 7th.

Here's a look at the upcoming schedule. The Rush have another split weekend with Colorado, heading down to Eagle country on Friday, then the teams head back to Rapid City for a 7 o'clock Saturday game. And then the Rush have a 3-game set against the 4th ranked Idaho Steelheads starting on Wednesday the 15th.
