The Rapid City Rush have finally gotten the elephant of the room -- getting their first win of the season this Saturday night.
We'll recap the week that was, and the week ahead in this edition of the Sunday Slapshot.

The Rush went into Saturday's game with 5 losses to start the season... But, the scoring started early against the Eagles on Saturday night. 1:47 into the game, Matt Caito passed to rookie, Jimmy DeVito who fired in the goal, his first of the season *and* his professional career to put the Rush in the early lead.

Colorado tied it at 1, but the Rush stayed focused. Gustav Bouramman passed across the goal to Dante Salituro - Salituro nets the goal to put the Rush up 2-1.

40 seconds later, and Rapid City is back on the break away. Alex Guptill to Jimmy DeVito, and the rookie netted his second goal of the game to put the Rush in the 3-1 lead. This Rush team looked sharp as ever last night! Later, DeVito returned the favor with the assist on Guptill's goal in the 3rd.

The Rush fell short in Colorado on Friday 5-4.
But Saturday, Rapid City held on for their first win of the season, beating the defending Kelly Cup Champions, 4-3!

Let's take a look at the standing in the Mountain Division... The Wichita Thunder lead the way with a perfect 6-and-0 record. Colorado moves down a spot to 2nd this week after suffering their first loss to the Rush on Saturday. Allen, Tulsa and Idaho are hanging out in the middle with 7 points. Utah and the Rapid City Rush round out the standings in 6th and 7th.

Here's a look at the upcoming schedule... the Rush go head to head with the Brampton Beast of the North Division for a three game set to kick off the first week of November.

And then the Rush have another away-home set with Colorado. Friday's game is in Loveland, Saturday will be here at the Civic Center at 7:05.
