Post 22 edges out East

Hosting the State Tournament this week, Post 22 automatically qualified for the affair and didn't have to compete in last week's regional action.
Wednesday the Hardhats got their first taste of post-season play, battling play-in winner, SIoux Falls East.

Post 22 honoring longtime coach Dave Ploof over the leftfield fence. Ploof passed away earlier in the season.
This one turned into a defensive battle early, Matt Graham gets the strikeout on Walker Paz to start the bottom of the first.
Later, Zach Solano draws the walk and the runner at second steals third safely.
But it wouldn't matter as Graham gets the strikeout on Zach Sumption to retire the side and end the threat.
Riley McSherry starting on the mound for Post 22, he'll pick up the strikeout on Austin Kubik to close the book on the top of the second.
Bottom of the second and Post 22 tries to get something started.
Timmy Paris with a solid single to center.
Lucas Ferdinand flares one to center, they'll bunt the runners over to 2nd and 3rd.
But East rises to the occasion as Graham gets Paz to fly out to left to end the threat.
Post 22 picks up the win 2-nothing.
