The high school baseball season got going last week and they had most of the week to themselves with the end of winter sports ... so it's little surprise that we hit the diamond for an exclusively hardball version of the plays of the week ....

6. We start things off at No. 6 and it's Stevens vs. Mitchell, KOBE LARSON POPS IT UP...... AND the Raiders' JUDGE HUTTO MAKES THE NICE play FOR THE OUT........ great awareness from the Raiders catcher on that play.

5. At No. 5 it's Central against Douglas and Colton TIPTON plays the short hop perfectly and makes the strong throw to first to get Mitch Sand for the out ....

4. At No. 4 it's more from Tipton against Mitchell and Tipton ropes this pitch all the way to the fence in center to score Bradley Anderson ...

3. At No. 3 it's Mitchell all-around standout Carson Max with the big fly to right-center against Stevens ... and that's out of here for a home run for the all-stater ...

2. At No. 2 it's the Cobblers showing off the defense against Mitchell with the 1-6-3 double play ... nice teamwork from Central on that play ...

1. And at No. 1 it's Stevens' Tanner Spencer with the flare into shallow left-center against Mitchell and Carter Thomas turns on the jets and makes a great slide to beat the tag at home ... unfortunately the Kernels took the win 21-9.

The Black Hills State women's basketball team lost a promising young post player today as freshman Morgan Koepsell announced that she will be transferring to Dakota State to continue her college basketball career.

Koepsell averaged 6 points and 2 and a half rebounds per game in limited minutes during her freshman campaign but her production increased during the second half of the season as she registered five double-figure outings over the final 12 games of the season, including a 24-point, 11-rebound performance on January 25th against New Mexico Highlands.

Koepsell will be eligible to play for the Trojans right away as she transferred from NCAA Division II to the NAIA level.
