Lady Hardrockers fall to Colorado Mesa, and more college scores

By  |

In college basketball action we go out to the South Dakota Mines as the Lady Hardrockers hosted Colorado Mesa.

The Mavericks' strike first. Ma'ata Epenisa with the ball down low, she passes it off to Bryanna Adams, who misses the floater, but Epenisa gets the rebound and the put-back for the first points on the board.

The Mines strike back. Senior, Megan Rohrer blocks the Mavericks' shot, and passes ahead to Krista Showalter, who pushes it up the court. Showalter makes the beautiful no look pass to Taylor Molstad who's wide open on the wing. She drills the three.

Mavericks' red shirt junior, Erin Reichle has the ball outside of the arch. She dribbles around, sees no one open, pulls up and sinks the long 2.

More from the Hardrockers, Showalter gets it down low to Freshman, Anna Haugen. She turns around for the easy basket.

On the next Mavericks' possession, there's a little give-and-go action, as Reichle passes into Nicole Archambeau at high-post, and she hands it back off to Reichle who finishes with the layup.

The Mines don't go away. Taylor Molstad with the beautiful reverse layup here.
It'd be a close one, but the Mavericks take away the 1-point victory, 59-58.

And on the men's side it was another close one, but the Hardrockers fell to Colorado Mesa, 63-60 the final score.

In more college hoops, Western State Colorado taking on Black Hills State. The Lady Mountaineer's last second 3 point shot gave WSCU the 59-56 win over the Black Hills State Lady Yellow Jackets.
And the BH men won big over the Mountaineers, 85-72 the final score.
