RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) -
Days before the Rapid City Rush travels to Kansas to face the Wichita Thunder, the club's AHL affiliate the Iowa Wild announced that Pavel Jenys is reassigned to the Rush while rookie forward Jack Walker will return to Iowa.
The news broke Tuesday mid morning, Jenys was called up to the Wild Feb. 8 and played in the team's game against the Chicago Wolves on Feb. 9. He registered a shot on goal with an even E rating. Before being called up he scored a goal in the Rush's Read to More morning game.
"Pavel got one heck of a shot, I can use him on the power play," said head coach Daniel Tetrault, "They are both great players, at least we gained one when we lost one."
Walker, has been a major asset to the Rush, especially in the team's previous series against the Utah Grizzlies. He registered a point in every game, as he collected a total of five assist and a goal.
"We're going to lose speed with Jack, but gain size and strength with Pavel." said Tetrault, " but you got to be happy for Jack, he is going to utilize his speed at the American League level and hopefully Pavel keeps his hot streak here in the ECHL with the Rush."
Walker played in 24 games with the Rush and collected 20 points.
