Friday night 9 p.m. sportscast

The St. Thomas More Christmas Classic is an event that hosts 24 basketball sub-varsity and varsity boys and girls basketball games at St. Thomas More High School and the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center over two days ...

Down to the civic center we go and the Madison Bulldogs enter this girls' game with a 1-4 record looking to upset the No. 1 team in Class A in STM ... The Cavaliers start things off with some defense as Haileigh Timmer makes the steal on the post entry pass and leads the break, finding Lizzie Elder for the left-handed layup ... nice all-around work from the STM guard there ... It's more from Timmer as she pulls down the board on the Madison miss ... outlets to Skylar Sullivan and Sullivan makes a great pass to find Mairin Duffy for the lay-in ... More jumping out to an early lead in this one ... The Bulldogs come back and break the STM pressure as Maddie Gerry takes this one right down main street with the nice sidestep of Duffy for the lay-up ... But the Cavaliers come back with a wide-open Kaci Cooper from the corner and she buries this triple off the feed from Timmer ... And then Cooper makes a nice defensive play, gathers the ball and finds Sullivan, who shows some patience with the pump fake and gets the bucket plus the foul ...

More rolls in this one by a final of 55-36 despite playing without two starters in Alex Kandolin and Ciara Benson ...
