Former South Dakota Mines basketball coach Barb Felderman headlines this year's Hardrocker Hall of Fame class.
Felderman began her Mines coaching career in 1981, and led the Lady Hardrockers to 11 conference championships and nine NAIA national tournament appearances, including Final Four appearances in 1998 and 1999. She was honored as South Dakota College Coach of the Year by sportswriters in 1991 and 1998 and was named SDIC Basketball Coach of the Year three times.
As Mines volleyball coach from 1981 to 1996, Felderman's teams won seven conference championships. She also coached the Mines men's tennis team to two national tournaments.
Other inductees into the 2018 Hardrocker Hall are Felderman's 1992-93 team, football guard Steve Olwin, alumni Paul Gnirk and hurdler Shannon (Hellman) Reed.
An induction ceremony will be held during Mines' homecoming on Sept. 15.
