In this week's FOX's Finest.
We start things off with Douglas's Molly Schwartz, who drains this 25-footer for birdie on the ninth hole during the Black Hills Conference Championships at Prairie Ridge Golf Course. She ended the day with a nine-over par 79 that was good for third place individually.
Next up, we're at Sioux Park for some tennis as Spearfish was in town to take on St. Thomas More and here More's Cade Kandolin returns a serve for the score with the sneaky little backhand winner that catches the Spartans off guard. Kandolin was called up in place of Cullen Hill at No. 1 doubles as Hill was busy taking an AP exam.
Sturgis high jumper Ashlyn Simons clears 5 feet in the finals of the girls high jump to pick up the win at the Rapid City Qualifier at O'Harra Stadium. Simons has gone 5 feet 2 inches this season and is currently tied for the eighth-best qualifying mark in Class AA. The state track and field meets will be held May 25 and 26th here in the Black Hills.
And we head back to the Black Hills Conference girls golf championships as Belle Fourche's Payson Birkeland judges everything about this birdie bomb of a putt on No. 9 perfectly. Birkeland shot an 87 to finish fifth individually and helped the Broncs and individual champ Jade Burr to the conference team title as well.
