Spring sports are continuing to impress throughout the Black Hills. From the ball diamond to the track, we'll highlight the best of the best from the week that was in this week's edition of the FOX's Finest.
Douglas taking on Sturgis at McKeague field on Thursday. Sturgis' Tristen Walter throws down a quick bunt, but Jarron Helstein leaps off the mound and gets the putout over at first. Douglas ends up winning it, 10-4.
Out to the Kadoka Invitational track meet. Cheyenne Pinney pole vaulting for Philip. Pinney takes 1st, beating everyone by a foot-and-a-half with 8-feet, 6-inches.
16-11 Spearfish vs. Douglas. Patriots with 2 outs at the bottom of the 4th, Douglas with runners on the corners... Kozel throws to 1st, and Jerry Premo takes off and steals 2nd, and Isiah Dubray steals home. The game would be called after the 4th inning for time restraints, as Spearfish gets the win, 16-12.
Back for more track as we go out to the Wall Invitational track meet. In boys' high jump, last week's Athlete of the Week, Allan McDonnell takes home first - upping the school record with his new PR of 6-feet, 8 inches.
