The high school wrestling season hits the mat for the first showdowns of the season.
And South Dakota Mines tries to step up its game for the first conference match-ups of the year.
We recap the best plays from the past seven days in this week's edition of the FOX's Finest.
Former Sioux Falls standout Taryn Christion with a stellar day, drops a beautiful pass on receiver Dallas Goedert in the back of the end-zone for the 28 yard score as Christion throws for 237 yards and 3 touchdowns and South Dakota State rolls into the third round with a 37 to 22 win.
The Belle Fourche Broncs and Sturgis Scoopers battling to open the high school wrestling season.
At 152 pounds, Sturgis senior Bailey Brengle dominant against sophomore Chase Bickerdyke. Brengle locks in the chickenwing and steps up over to pick up the pin.
Sturgis overpowers Belle Fourche for the duel victory.
The South Dakota Mines men hosting Metro State-Denver in college basketball action.
Hardrockers on the attack in the first half, Brian Orr with a terrific effort here. Works his way into the pain then hits the pretty fadeaway jumper.
But the Hardrockers come up short in a heartbreaker. 61 to 58 the final Score.
The South Dakota Mines women taking on Metro State Denver and turning up the defense.
4th quarter of play, MSU with a healthy lead, the Hardrockers create the turnover, Sami Steffeck to Taylor Molstad, over to Ryan Weiss for the easy two.
But MSU Denver picks up the win 70 to 58.
Friday, The Rapid City Rush on the road against the Allen Americans and trying to battle their way back from a deficit.
3rd period, Marcus Ortiz takes the pass from Gustav Bouramman, then feeds Darian Dziurzynski for the beautiful redirect as the Rush pulls within one of Allen. The first goal of the season for Dziurzynski, but the Rush comeback falls short.
5-to-3 the final score.>
