And it was a beautiful day for tennis as you could just feel the enthusiasm among players and fans as they got to play in some really pleasant conditions.
We start things off with No. 1 doubles action with Stevens' Jamison Pfingston and Jackson Ellis against Pierre's Jace Wernsmann and Matthew Hanson, here Pfingston with the soft hands at the net and Hanson is just a tad outside with his return effort ... and the Raider duo -- the No. 3-ranked doubles team in the state -- moves on in this one by a score of 6-2, 6-1.
Over to a showdown between St. Thomas More's Nick Lust and Cullen Hill and the No. 1 doubles team in the state from Sioux Falls O'Gorman in Cade Damgaard and Will McDowell.
Hill gets a racket on one at the net, forcing the O'Gorman team into a high looper but Lust's attempt at the smash finds the net.
A little later, Hill with some strong play at the net, but then he comes up with the unforced error as O'Gorman takes this match and advances. Damgaard and McDowell later topped Pfingston and Ellis for the title in a thriller 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
