The high school girls city golf tournament between Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central got underway for a few holes yesterday at Meadowbrook before being rained out, so the four-day, 36-hole tournament became a three-day, 27-hole tourney with today's action at Hart Ranch kicking things off.
And it was a nearly perfect day for golf at Hart Ranch today as Central and Stevens played in 80-degree temps and sunshine.
We start on the first hole here and Stevens' Emmy Sundby knocks down this putt to start the day off with a birdie.
Next up, Sundby's teammate Elyse Owen saves par after getting up and down from just off the left side of the green.
Over to the second hole and Sundby chips this one from an awkward lie to kick-in range for a par.
Here Central's Erin Trohkimoinen tees off on the par 5 third.
And to the par 3 fourth we go and it's Owen with a nice shot on the 130-yard par 3, left of the pin about 20 feet.
And we head to the green and Owen judges her birdie attempt perfectly as this putt has just enough speed to creep over the lip for a two.
The tournament continues tomorrow at Arrowhead and concludes Friday at Red Rock.
