Young professionals learn table manners and social cues at an etiquette dinner

On Wednesday night young professionals learned how to eat with social grace at an etiquette dinner.

The Rapid City Young Professionals Group teamed up with the Women's Career and Leadership Initiative to offer etiquette dinner training.

People learned things like how to properly use silverware, why pacing yourself while eating is polite, and what topics are appropriate for dinner.

Women's Career and Leadership Initiative Co-chair Danita Simons says, "Our goal is to help people feel like they can be a part of a conversation at a social event or feel comfortable making quick decisions when they're presented with a difficult situation so we just want people to feel comfortable in difficult situations, especially in social settings."

The organizers hope attendees can take away these new skills to enhance their careers and share this knowledge with others.
