YFS hosts public substance abuse training

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN/KOTA TV) - Youth and Family Services in Rapid City is hosting a two-day training seminar on Substance Abuse and Effects on the Brain.

The seminar is Wednesday and Thursday in the YFS building at 120 East Adams Street. Wednesday the training is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $10 and lunch will be provided during the Wednesday session.

Ed Moses, a retired law enforcement lieutenant and drug recognition expert, will present the training. It focuses on substance abuse trends, effects on the brain, and resulting consequences to the person and society. Substances to be most focused on include marijuana, methamphetamine and alcohol.
