Wyoming snowplow driver aids in arrest of 3 drug suspects

ELK MOUNTAIN, Wyo. (KEVN/KOTA TV) - When a case full of cash flies out of a car full of pot, the best thing you can do is to keep going. That’s not what three people on a Wyoming road did.

Thursday, a Wyoming snowplow driver hit a Pelican case on a road near Elk Mountain. When the driver picked up the case –a hard plastic container with an air- and watertight seal – a large undisclosed amount of cash spilled out. The driver turned the cash over to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Meanwhile, another highway maintenance crew was contacted by three people; asking about a Pelican case they say flew out of their car carrier. The crew directed the trio to the local patrol office in Elk Mountain.

At the patrol office, troopers smelled marijuana in the vehicle and a sniff by a patrol’s K-9 confirmed it … 81 pounds of marijuana; as well as ecstasy, hallucinogenic mushrooms and liquid THC.

Needless to say, the three were arrested for felony possession of controlled substances.
