Uranium mining project takes another step

Azarga Uranium, the company looking to run the Dewey Burdock In-Situ Recovery Uranium Project in Fall River County, says it's pleased that the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board has issued an order that will allow a schedule to be set to deal with objections to the final approval of the operation.

The company says motions involving the final contention ... which involves protecting historical and cultural resources ... have to be filed by August 18th.
The Dewey Burdock Project has been in the works for more than ten years but has been held up in the regulatory process.
Some local groups have objected to the plan, fearful that the uranium mining will pollute the water here in the Black Hills.
