A movie shot in the area that put a small town in Wyoming on the map is celebrating its 40th anniversary and alien enthusiasts gathered to celebrate.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind is set with the background of Devil's Tower and so is the first ever Devil's Tower UFO Rendezvous.
Folks gathered in Hulett Wyoming to share a love of unidentified flying objects and the science behind their detection.
Laurie Tucker, event coordinator says, "They're interested in UFOs,aliens and that type of thing and they want to further their knowledge. We have a lot of investigators here from other state that are UFO investigators for MUFON so it's an inters for some, its a business, a hobby."
The event featured guest speakers including those from a group called MUFON or the Mutual UFO network.
The group shared their close encounters and one speaker shared his story on an abduction that took place in 1975.
Tucker says, "We've got Travis Walton who will be talking about his alien abduction, which is one of the most fascinating cases I've ever heard of."
The event continues throughout the weekend and closes with an alien themed parade on Saturday through downtown Hulett.
