PIERRE, S.D. (KEVN) - When it comes to consumer complaints, what tops the list in South Dakota?
According to a release from the state Attorney General’s Office, it is landlord-tenant complaints.
Following the top complaint:
2. Internet goods
4. Retail general
8. Credit cards
10. Home improvement
While complaining doesn’t always resolve an issue, the state had had some success in protecting consumers.
Last fiscal year, the AG’s Consumer Protection Division recovered $9,427,745 for South Dakota consumers. The division also took more than 30,000 consumer inquiries.
The AG’s release stated that “aggravating” robocalls are a continuing issue. There are apps that can help, such as Nomorobo, truecaller, RoboKiller, Mr. Number, and Hiya.
The AG’s office releases its top 10 complaints at the start of National Consumer Protection Week, which begins Sunday.
