Thursday night brings about snowfall and some problems on the road

Travel was a challenge in a lot of places around the Black Hills today.
There were plenty of people sliding off the road today and several accidents but most of those were minor. Rapid City Police say their officers responded to 15 accidents between midnight and three Friday afternoon.

They described that number as less than expected with this much snow and say there were not any major crashes in town.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office says they were busy with cars off the road on the interstate between Box Elder and Wasta and says there were a lot of early morning hangups on hills around the county
with vehicles getting stuck on the way up.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says their troopers responded to more than 40 vehicles that slid into ditches along with one injury accident and nine crashes that involved property damage.
