RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN/KOTA TV) - A doctor working for the Black Hills Veterans Administration was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan earlier this month.
Drs. Iftikhar Ahmad and Tahir Aziz were killed in the northern area of the Punjab province, according to the Rabwah Times, a Pakistan digital media company.
Ahmad and Aziz were reported missing March 15 when they failed to return to Islamabad. Their bodies were found three days later.
Police believe the doctors' murders were not part of any religious strive; rather that several of Ahmad's employees in Pakistan planned the murder.
Ahmad has been doctor for several years and worked in Sturgis, Hot Springs and Rapid City. We're told he had returned to Pakistan to check on property he owned.
