Special process to be used in District 32 House race

In the District 32 House GOP Primary, three candidates were in the running for two positions, including incumbent Sean McPherson who recently passed away.

Scyller Borglum took 39% of the vote, and will compete in the general election in November. Borglum was followed by McPherson with 35% and Ed Randazzo with 26%. Because of this, a special process to decide the second candidate for the general election in November is scheduled for later this month.

Marguerite McPhillips from the Pennington County GOP says, "June 18th at 9 a.m. at the auditors office, there will be a recount of it, and the judge appoints someone who is a lawyer to oversee it. Candidates can be there or a representative for the them, and then the decision will be made. Then that evening, I have decided to have a Central Committee meeting, and someone will be nominated from the floor."

Only District 32 precinct representatives and legislators can vote at that Central Committee meeting later this month. The winner will face Democrats Susan Kelts and Angel Staley in the general election.
