South Dakota's CAFR shows 4.1 percent increase for total net position

The annual report includes the state's government's complete financial statements, information about the state's economic conditions, the profile of the government, major initiatives and a financial analysis of the state's funds.

The state ended the 2017 fiscal year with a total net position of $6.5 billion which is a 4.1 percent increase from last year.

According to Governor Daugaard, he is pleased that the state's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (C-A-F-R) was issued within six months of the fiscal year.

Daugaard added that he is pleased that South Dakota's position has strengthen of what already a strong financial position.
