DEADWOOD, SD (KEVN) - Thousands from around the region are expected to ride the St Patrick's Day wave in Deadwood this weekend.
The celebration kicked off Friday with the Leprechaun Olympics where folks bounce to different locations on Main Street to play games and rack up on prizes.
Drinks were definitely flowing at Oyster Bay, one of Deadwood's most popular bars.
One dedicated group hanging out there says they wouldn't miss the party for anything.
"I've been stuck in Minneapolis airport for three days just got the opportunity to make it a day late," said Kelly H. from Chelsea, SD.
"This is like our seventh year. We got addicted seven years ago and we have a great group of us that come out, we get a cabin, and have tons of fun,"said Melissa O. from Mellette, SD.
Kelly and Melissa said they are proud to be winners of one of the the celebration's previous Pub Crawls.
The festivities will continue with the annual St Patrick's Day Parade at noon on Saturday followed by a Pub Crawl beginning at 2:30 p.m.
