RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - There might soon be another building added to the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology campus. An Alumni Center is in the works, but right now it is still in the planning stages.
School of Mines officials say the building would be a place for graduates to have a place on campus to call home.
Charles Michael Ray with SDSM&T says the building will reflect the accomplishments and memories of Mines alumni and the history of the university.
The Alumni Center would house the Foundation Center on the upper floor and the Alumni Association on the ground floor. It would also include meeting and conference rooms as well as a large event area and catering kitchen.
The project is still in the planning phase, and officials do not have a date set for groundbreaking. Ray says the new building will be funded through charitable donations.
