SD state senators pick majority leader, whips

PIERRE, S.D. (KEVN/KOTA TV) – South Dakota’s Senate Republican caucus picks its leadership for the 2019-2020 Legislative terms.

Elected to majority leadership positions are:

• Majority leader – Sen. Kris Langer
• Assistant majority leader – Sen. Jim Bolin
• Majority whips – Sen. Bob Ewing, Sen. Joshua Klumb, Sen. Al Novstrup and Sen. Jordan Youngberg

Sen. Brock Greenfield is the GOP nominee for the position of president pro tempore. That position will be filled by a full Senate vote on opening day of the 2019 Legislative session, Jan. 8.
