Riders took a moment Thursday to celebrate our freedom during this year's Freedom Ride in Spearfish.
Every year the Buffalo Chip sponsors the Freedom Celebration Ride to raise money and awareness for our veterans.
This year the money raised will go to America's Fighting Warriors, Warrior Dog Foundation, and Combat Wounded Coalition.
A founder of one of the non-profits says the ride helps those not directly associated with our heroes remember all that our vets have done.
Jason Redman, founder of Combat Wounded Coalition, says,"We've got so many veterans that are here with us from the Vietnam War to our current war veterans. We have several Wounded Warriors on the ride, and it's just an honor to be out here doing this to raise awareness to honor the sacrifice and to raise dollars for a good cause."
The ride was led by Redman and more than 100 bikes trailed behind him on the journey from Spearfish to the Buffalo Chip for a final reception.
