Rapid City kicks off National Public Works Week

On Saturday the city of Rapid City kicked off National Public Works Week with a "meet and greet" and demonstrations.

Public Works provides multiple services to Rapid from street plowing to solid waste collection.

Today residents looked at vehicles from different divisions and watched demonstrations of the equipment in action.

Dale Tech says the workers operating the pothole patching truck, dump truck and other machinery contribute a lot to our town's quality of life.

"We want to live in a clean vibrant community and it's important we take care of our solid waste, sanitary sewers, and also provide good quality drinking water to our citizens and provide transportation systems for them to get around and enjoy our beautiful community," Dale Tech said, Rapid City Public Works Director.

Throughout the week, the public is invited to visit the city's public works facilities and meet the people who serve them.
