Postal Service halts mail delivery due to deep freeze

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The deep freeze gripping most of the country hits home with late starts and closures for schools; and, believe it or not, suspension of U.S. mail service.

The U.S. Postal Service suspended mail delivery in South and North Dakota for Wednesday. This means no residential or commercial services. USPS states that there could be retail operations at local offices but that may be limited.

Tuesday afternoon, Rapid City Area Schools posted that there will be a two-hour late start Wednesday and that there won’t be morning pre-school or breakfast.

University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University cancelled classes for Wednesday.
