People walking and running for St. Patrick's Day and students at School of Mines

The 2018 Dublin Dash is a special St. Patrick's Day 5K Run and Walk put on by the School of Mines and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Student Chapter. On the route Saturday morning, runners and walkers began at Steele Avenue Park and made their way down to Founder's Park from there and then shuttled to Murphy's and then ended back at SDSM&T for prizes and to celebrate St. Patty's Day!

Neil Leyda, event coordinator for the Dublin Dash, says "i find it really exciting that the community can find it within themselves to support us. This is the 12th year and we have 150 people signed up this year so even though it's snowing, icy and below freezing, we had a really good turnout and I'm really excited."

The proceeds from the Dublin Dash will support the AIChe chapter sending students to conferences to help with career development and providing scholarships for high achieving students in the club.
