RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - In today's society, more and more Moms and Dads don't stay "together".
When that happens, usually one parent get's 'Primary Physical Custody'. Sometimes it's Mom, sometimes it's Dad.
If you're a Dad, and you're not the one given that primary time with your kids: how do you make the very most of the time you do have with your kiddos?
In this "Friday's Focus on Fatherhood" we hear from Roger Gallimore, who is both a Dad, and Executive Director of the YMCA of Rapid City.
"Really, the time that you spend, when you find yourself in a limited situation, time you spend is all about building that relationship.
You're not gonna build that relationship by sitting down and watching TV together, or that screen time," he says.
"On the other side, it doesn't have to be some big magnificent event. It's just time together. That's what's important, and that may be time just sitting down and eating," Gallimore continues.
"It might be sitting down and saying, 'Tell me, I haven't seen you for a week, or I haven't seen you for a couple weeks. Tell me what's been happening. I'm interested. I want to know. And then genuinely listen," Gallimore says.
