RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) The person who robbed the Loaf ‘N Jug on Mount Rushmore Road Saturday night left a distinctive trail for police to follow … his footprints in the snow.

The suspect, 22-year-old Clayton Otto of Rapid City, was arrested on first degree robbery.

The robbery was around 11:35 p.m. Saturday. The clerk told police that a man brandishing a shotgun demanded money from the register.

Police reviewed surveillance footage and then tracked the suspect’s footprints to a home on the 800 block of Clark Street. Neighboring home security camera footage showed the suspect going into the house.

Since the robber was armed with a shotgun, police called out the Rapid City/Pennington County Special Response Team to serve a search warrant. In the search, police found a shotgun and clothing reportedly worn by the suspect.
