Kyle man pleads guilty to knowing about child's abuse and death
His wife is accused of killing a child in Kyle back in 2015 and on Friday, he admitted to knowing about the abuse and not doing anything about it.
44-year old Mitchell Wisecarver pleaded guilty to misprison of a felony as part of a plea agreement with the United States.
According to the factual basis statement, Wisecarver and his wife took custody of the child in October of 2014.
Wisecarver says his wife, Lori repeatedly abused the child mostly due to potty training issues.
The child later died from blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen.
Wisecarver says he was aware of the abuse, but failed to intervene and report it to authorities.
He faces a maximum sentence of three years behind bars and, or a $250,000 fine.
Lori Wisecarver earlier pleaded guilty to second degree murder and she faces up to life in prison.
