RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The Rapid City community doubles down on support for the KOTA Care and Share Food Drive, donating more than $15,000 Friday to trigger an anonymous donor’s match.
Charitable people driving through the Bagel in the Street event downtown Rapid City gave $15,516.62. Adding the anonymous matching donation set a record of $31,033.24. Church Response gets 100 percent of the funds and donated nonperishable foods for its pantry.
In return, KEVN/KOTA TV and Radio staffers, as well as other volunteers, handed out bagels from Black Hills Bagels, Dark Canyon Coffee and Pepsi products.
This is the 11th year that KOTA Territory has sponsored the Bagel in the Street campaign. Last year $11,000 was raised.
