A jury has been selected in federal court in Rapid City for a trial involving a 43-year old Isabel man accused of attempted enticement of a minor using the internet back in August of 2016.

Andries Snyman was arrested after a multi-agency investigation into sex trafficking in Rapid City.
According to court documents, several law enforcement agencies set up an operation to target online predators during the 2016 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Those documents say that the agents put out multiple advertisements on online websites and mobile applications used for dating and sexual hookups.
The document goes on to say that Snyman chatted on the mobile app, responding to undercover agents, who were posing as a 14-year old boy, looking to engage in a sex act.
Agents say that Snyman began to text the undercover agent after exchanging phone numbers asking to meet up, once a meeting place was planned, agents arrived and arrested Snyman.
Snyman faces a mandatory ten year prison sentence if convicted, with a maximum of up to life behind bars.
Opening statements begin Wednesday morning.
