Lead, SD The Homestake Opera House in Lead was getting folks into the holiday spirit with their annual Festival of Trees Vintage Holiday Celebration.
16 trees and wreaths adorned the front of the opera house stage and a festive hand bell choir provided entertainment.
Folks could view the trees and vote on their favorite tree and wreath and the winner will go home with a trophy.
Guests also enjoyed snacks and viewed the progress of the restoration in the theater and this event is one of many that provides funds for the opera house to continue offering theatrical and musical entertainment to the community.
Sarah Carlson, Homestake Opera House executive director says, "This event has been going since 1982 it was actually the original black hills festival of trees. What is special about this event it's the communities of Deadwood and Lead and then all of those around. People have come back for this event time and time again in this theater just because of the building, the beloved memories, people growing up in this building as a recreation center, as a theater and we have that special tie to our community in that way."
The event was held in conjunction with the Lead and Deadwood Area Chamber of Commerce.
