This is the first installment of our new series "Friday's Focus on Fatherhood".
Each Friday night we'll take a quick look at a new topic to help Dads be the best they can be.
Our very first topic is: What's a Dad's most important role for their kids?
Here's a couple thoughts from folks that spend a lot of time working with kids.
"From a professional standpoint and personal standpoint, I truly believe the most important role a father can play with their children is to spend time with them, to listen to them, to communicate with them, and have fun. Life is very short, and you know what? We had these babies come into the world and we're gonna watch them grow up. So let's enjoy every moment, love them, and spend time with them," says
John Gordon of Youth and Family Services.
"I think a dad's most important role is just to be there, just to simply show up. Make sure you're there for the important events that happen in their life. That really matters" says Clay Quinton of Rapid City Club for Boys.
And that's our first quick focus on fatherhood.
If you're a father with a question you'd like us to consider for a future segment, please call or e-mail us to let us know.
We'll look at another subject relating to being a Dad, next Friday night on Black Hills Fox News at 9:00.
