Former Lead state legislator Jim Dunn passed away Thursday.
The 89-year-old Dunn served as a state representative for three years before becoming a state senator from 1973 to 2001.
His 30 years of service make him the longest-serving legislator in South Dakota history along with four others.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard has ordered flags to fly at half-staff in Pierre next Friday, the day of Dunn's funeral.
