Fatal drunk driving suspect pleads not guilty
A Wanblee man accused of killing three people in a car accident last November made his initial appearance in federal court Friday afternoon.
Tyler Makes Him First pleaded not guilty to a single count of involuntary manslaughter.
But federal prosecutors said in court today that more charges are likely coming.
Makes Him First is accused of driving drunk, crossing the center line and hitting another car, killing Waylon Red Elk, Senior, Waylon Red Elk, Junior and Jaylene Pretends Eagle.
Pretends Eagle's mother says it was an emotional hearing more than six months after the accident.
Phyllis Wilcox, Pretend Eagle's mother, says, " We're still suffering day by day. Waylon's family and my granddaughter couldn't take it. We have to suffer every day, losing my daughter and her babies, her five boys she left behind. they don't have their mother no more."
Magistrate Judge Daneta Wollmann released Makes Him First on a personal recognizance bond with the requirement that he consume no alcohol.
