FBI Minneapolis Division special agent in charge visits Rapid City
There's a change at the top in the Minneapolis Division of the FBI.
Jill Sanborn was appointed as the new special agent in charge by FBI director Christopher Wray back in February and took over the job last month.
Sanborn was in Rapid City Tuesday.
She became a special agent back in 1998.
Most recently, Sanborn has been working as a section chief in the Counterterrorism Division, overseeing all international counterterrorism investigations.
She knows staffing levels here in the Dakotas are a challenge.
Sanborn says, "That's a challenge we face all the time with our offices and it's just the nature of attrition. My hope is to work with our headquarters to keep the staffing levels as solid and continuous as possible with as little dip in that as possible."
Sanborn isn't new to the region.
She is a native of Dillon, Montana.
