Ellsworth to conduct active shooter exercise

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. (KEVN) - Ellsworth Air Force Base will hold an active shooter exercise on Thurs. Feb. 22. The drill is to test the 28th Bomb Wing’s reaction and response to an active shooter situation.

People in the area may hear emergency activity including response vehicles, simulated gunfire, sirens and announcements over the base’s “giant voice” system.

Those with appointments are encouraged to arrive early and call ahead to make sure their appointment is not being impacted. Motorists may experience delays and trouble entering and exiting the base.
