Duffers get running water in golf course restrooms

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The weather might have kept most people from starting their golf season, but golfers who ventured out to Meadowbrook Golf Course this spring have seen some improvements.

The city is finishing up a new starters shack that will also have restrooms with running water. They also removed about six trees next to the driving range in order to put in sewer and water lines. The city hopes Marco's Pizza might use the old starters shack as a shop in the future.

This project is in the fourth year of a 10-year plan.

"Running water bathrooms was one of the big ones that was out there," said Rapid City Parks and Recreation Division manager Doug Lowe. "We've never had a bathroom out there with flushing toilets and water to wash your hands ever in it's existence on the course itself so we're really excited."

The end date for construction is set for May 1, pending the weather, of course.
